About Us

Scarborough Gym-Elites Club Inc was founded in 1999 by a small group of parents who felt that it was important for Scarborough to provide quality gymnastics programs for both recreational and competitive athletes within the community. The new gymnastics club was incorporated as a "not-for-profit" sports organization.

Today the Club continues to be managed by an elected Board of Directors comprised of parents of athletes who volunteer their time to this important function. The mandate of the Board is to ensure that the Club provides the community a full range of gymnastics programs for their children in a safe and professional environment at affordable prices.

Our humble beginnings took place in Units 25/26 at 510 Coronation Drive. The programs began with only 70 athletes in September of 1999, but these numbers quickly increased as the community became aware of the offered programs. SGE was assisted in those early days with a grant provided by the Ontario Trillium Foundation which enabled the Club to provide a full complement of gymnastics equipment that is required for a comprehensive gymnastics program. Parents undertook additional fundraising events to finance the construction of a "foam pit" that children of all ages love to jump into.

In October 2005, SGE was provided the opportunity to move to a sunnier, larger facility at the front of the industrial complex. Excitedly the opportunity was embraced and with the expanded space the Club has been afforded the ability to provide new Trampoline and Tumbling programs in addition to the original Artistic programs. SGE has also become the home of the Cheerleading team called the "Scarborough Titans".

It is exciting to realize that SGE has truly become a busy hub of athletic activity. It is wonderful to see children of all ages and athletic abilities enjoy being active and learning new skills in a safe and nurturing environment.
